VirtualBox Install

Easy Server Install On Windows

This is the quickest way to set up Row64.

Install VirtualBox

First, download Virtualbox for Windows. Get the latest version here:
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads

Install Visual C++ Redistributable (If Needed)

If you see the following pop-up during the installation, VirtualBox needs an extra component.

Download the extra component here:
https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe

If you're curious, more details are available here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170

Get Row64 Server VM

The entire installed and running server is packaged in a single .ova file, located here:
https://app.row64.com/Install/V3_5/WindowsNC/Row64Server_V3_5.ova

This virtual machine requires 100 GB of space. Please make sure you have enough space on your computer.

Open Virtual Box, and under File, select Import Appliance

Import the .ova, keep the default settings, and hit Finish

Start Up the VM

Click on the VM on the left and then the Start Button.

Minimize the VM

When the Virtual Machine pops up, it will look like the following image:

You don’t need to do anything; the server is already running. Just minimize the window and go to the next step.

Run Test Examples

Verify that the installation and setup was successful by running test examples. Refer to the corresponding documentation on how to do this:
